This About Us page explains who runs Tech Guides, the English section of Çılgın Teknoloji, what it covers, and how each guide is researched, checked and corrected. Start here if you found one of our guides and want to know whether to trust it.
Tech Guides publishes step-by-step fixes for tech problems people search for in English: a drive that vanished from Windows, a controller that won’t power on, a car scanner that won’t connect.

Why the English Guides Are Written Separately
The English guides are not translations of the Turkish site. Its articles answer questions Turkish readers ask, many of them tied to Turkey, such as IMEI registration or local banking apps. Translated, they would answer questions English readers never had.
People searching in English hit different problems, describe them differently and often own different models. So each guide is written for that reader, with the menu names, settings and support pages they will actually see.
About Us: Who Runs Tech Guides
Tech Guides is run by Toprak Kaan Genç, the owner and sole editor of Çılgın Teknoloji. The site is independent, not part of a media group or a larger publisher. He decides what is published, and his name appears on every guide as the person responsible for it.
A few quick facts about us:
- Owner and editor: Toprak Kaan Genç
- Based in: Turkey
- Turkish site: Çılgın Teknoloji, first article in late 2024, regular publishing since summer 2026
- English section: opened in September 2026
- Advertising: Google AdSense
What We Cover
English guides are grouped into six categories:
- Mobile: charging, eSIM transfers and other phone problems.
- Computers: drives, BitLocker and other Windows PC issues.
- Software & Apps: Windows resets, browsers and app problems.
- Gaming: controllers, headsets and other gear.
- Internet: Wi-Fi, routers and connection problems.
- Cars & Tech: OBD2 scanners and in-car tech.
A guide is the best sample of our work. Wi-Fi connected but no internet starts by sorting out whether one device or every device is offline. Moving an eSIM to a new phone compares six transfer paths. An OBD2 scanner that won’t connect is worked through from the fuse to pairing.
How a Guide Is Made
Most of what readers want to know about us comes down to one question: can I trust these steps? Here is how each guide is put together.
- Real demand first. Every topic starts from a problem people search for in English. We don’t write answers to questions nobody asks.
- Official sources. Steps, menu paths and facts are checked against the manufacturer’s or platform’s own documentation, such as Microsoft, Apple or Google support pages, and each guide links to them so you can check them yourself.
- Accuracy review. Before it is published, each guide is reviewed for accuracy against those sources.
- Plain structure. Each guide sorts the fixes by symptom, in the order worth trying them, so you can jump straight to your case. A short FAQ near the end covers the leftover questions.
We don’t claim that every guide was tested hands-on on the exact device it describes; nobody owns every phone, controller and car. If we can’t verify a step or a fact, it stays out of the guide.
Corrections and Updates
If you find a mistake, email admin@cilginteknoloji.com with the page link, what is wrong, and an official source if you have one.
We check your report against the source. If it holds up, we fix the guide, and the page shows an updated date. Correction reports go first, because a wrong step can cost someone time or data.
We also update guides on our own when an operating system update renames a setting or moves a menu. The same goes for this About Us page: if something here stops being true, we change it.
Independence, Ads and Money
Pages show Google AdSense ads, which are chosen and served by Google, not hand-picked by us. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services, and our cookie policy lists the cookies involved.
Money does not decide what a guide says. These rules don’t change:
- Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, is labeled as sponsored at the top of the page.
- Paid links are never added to existing guides after they are published.
- A product is mentioned in a guide because readers with that problem need it, not because someone paid.
- We don’t publish guest posts.
Privacy, Cookies and Comments
No account is needed to read anything here, and there is no newsletter. We use Google Analytics to measure which guides people read and how they use the pages, such as scrolling, clicks on outside links and site searches.
Analytics stores a randomly generated ID in cookies in your browser from the first page you open; there is no cookie banner or consent step. The ads set their own cookies too.
Posting a comment on a guide asks for a name and an email address, and WordPress also stores your IP address and browser details with it. The email is not published, and we delete a comment on request.
This About Us page gives only the short version. The details are in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
How to Reach Us
Our contact page lists every way to reach us. Email is the main one; we aim to reply within two business days, and there is no phone support. Questions about us, the site or a specific guide all go to the same address.
We can’t offer one-to-one support for individual devices. If a guide misses your case, though, tell us: when the gap is real, we add the missing step, so everyone with the same problem gets the answer.
We also post on X as @Cilgin_Tekno, mostly in Turkish.
If you expected to find something about us here and didn’t, email us. If it belongs on this page, we will add it.
Questions About Us
Short answers to questions a first-time reader might have about us.
Are the English guides translated from Turkish?
No. Each English guide is planned and written in English from the start.
How do I know whether a guide can be trusted?
Compare it with the official sources it links to. As this About Us page explains, steps are checked against documentation rather than tested on every device, and confirmed mistakes are fixed and dated.
Is this About Us page the same as the Turkish one?
No. The Turkish site has its own page in Turkish; this one covers the English section and was written separately, like the guides.
Can I pay to have a link or an article published?
Links in existing guides are not for sale. You can send a sponsorship proposal by email. If we ever accept one, we write the article ourselves and label it as sponsored at the top. We don’t publish articles supplied by outside writers, paid or unpaid.
