Privacy Policy
What we collect when you read, comment or email us, which outside companies receive data through our pages, and how to use your privacy rights.
This privacy policy explains what cilginteknoloji.com collects when you read a guide, comment or email us, who receives data through our pages, and your choices.
No account or sign-up is needed to read. This privacy policy is a plain-language description, not legal advice.

Who Runs the Site and What This Privacy Policy Covers
cilginteknoloji.com is run by Toprak Kaan Genç, who is based in Turkey and responsible for the personal data described in this privacy policy (the “data controller”). You can reach us about this privacy policy at admin@cilginteknoloji.com.
This privacy policy covers every page on cilginteknoloji.com, including our English Tech Guides. Sites we link to have their own policies.
Information We Collect and Why
Comments
When you post a comment, WordPress stores the comment text, your name, email address, IP address and browser user agent. There is no website field. Approved comments show your name; your email is never published.
Our server fetches the profile picture beside each approved comment from Gravatar (Automattic, United States) using a hashed form of your email address; your browser does not contact Gravatar.
Antispam Bee filters spam with a hidden trap field and stores a hashed, salted copy of the IP address. Its optional outside lookups are turned off on this site, so it sends nothing to outside services.
If you tick the “Save my name, email, and website” box, which is unticked by default, WordPress keeps your name and email in cookies for one year.
Server Logs and Security
Our host, Güzel Hosting in Turkey, keeps access logs (IP address, time, requested URL, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
The host’s Imunify360 firewall blocks attacks and abusive bots; Imunify receives records of blocked attacks, including the source IP, and a daily list of the most active bot IPs.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4, loaded by plugins including Site Kit by Google, shows us which guides are read and how visitors find them. Its _ga and _ga_ cookies hold a random ID and session state for up to two years, so the data is pseudonymous, not anonymous.
Google records pages viewed, scrolling, outbound clicks, form interactions, downloads, site searches, and your device, browser and rough location. Google says it discards the IP address after use: for EU, UK and Swiss visitors it only derives location, and for others it also checks for spam.
Google explains its use of this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. An empty Google Tag Manager container also loads, connecting your browser to Google without adding tracking.
On a computer, Google’s opt-out add-on for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge stops Analytics. On a phone, blocking this site’s cookies limits it; clearing them only resets your ID (see our cookie policy).
Settings Saved in Your Browser
The theme switch saves your light or dark choice in local storage (ct-tema) after you click it. Our page cache sets a two-day technical cookie, _lscache_vary, and two session storage entries. None of these identify you.
Email You Send Us
Email to us is stored in our mailbox on our host’s server in Turkey. We use it to reply and improve our guides, and pass it on only if the law requires it.
Advertising and Google AdSense
The site shows Google AdSense ads. Google asks AdSense sites to state in their privacy policy that third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
The ad code also sets cookies on doubleclick.net and loads Google’s ad traffic quality checks, including a hidden reCAPTCHA frame. Our cookie policy lists each cookie and should be read with this privacy policy.
You can opt out of personalized ads from Google in My Ad Center (Google Ads Settings), and of other vendors’ use of cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info or, in Europe, Your Online Choices.
Google requires a Google-certified consent platform to show personalized ads to visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. We do not use one yet, so personalized ads should not be shown there. Non-personalized ads can still use cookies for frequency capping and reporting.
What We Do Not Do
- No user accounts, newsletter or contact form.
- No embedded videos, maps or social scripts; “Share on X” is a plain link.
- No outside font services.
- We do not sell or rent comment or email data, and never give it to advertisers.
The site earns money from Google ads, and the ad and analytics code lets Google collect cookie IDs, IP addresses and pages viewed from your browser, including for personalized ads. Some US state laws, such as California’s, may treat this as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. The tools above limit it.
How Long We Keep Data
- Comments: until you ask us to delete them or we remove them.
- Server logs: for the period in our host’s policy, then deleted automatically.
- Emails: deleted within a reasonable time after your request is resolved.
- Google Analytics: at most 14 months after your last visit, the maximum for standard Analytics properties; aggregated reports are not affected.
- Cookies and browser storage: from one tab session up to two years, including ad cookies, as listed in our cookie policy; ct-tema stays until you clear it.
AdSense data follows Google’s own retention rules. Our Analytics reports show pseudonymous IDs and activity, never names or email addresses; AdSense reports are aggregated.
Legal Bases
We collect data automatically through cookies, scripts and server logs, and directly through the comment form and email. Under Turkey’s KVKK (Article 5) and, where it applies to you, the EU or UK GDPR:
- Server logs, firewall records, login limits and spam filtering: our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe (KVKK Article 5(2)(f)).
- Comments and email replies: your request and our legitimate interest in running the site.
Analytics and advertising cookies: the site has no cookie banner at the moment, so these cookies are set when a page loads. You can limit or block them with the browser settings and Google tools above; if we add a consent tool, this section will explain it.
International Data Transfers
Our server is in Turkey, outside the EU and UK. Besides our host, the recipients named in this privacy policy are Google, Imunify and Gravatar. Google processes data worldwide, including in the United States, and Automattic, which runs Gravatar, is US-based.
Google says it relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension, the Swiss-U.S. framework and standard contractual clauses where needed.
Your Privacy Rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, restricted use or a portable copy, and object to its use. Under KVKK you can also learn which third parties in Turkey or abroad received it, have corrections or deletions passed on to them, and claim compensation for unlawful processing.
To use any of these rights, email us. We aim to reply within two business days and complete requests within 30 days at the latest, with no ID documents needed.
Under Turkey’s KVKK (Law No. 6698), which applies to us, you first send us your request. If we refuse, do not answer within 30 days, or you disagree with our answer, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority within 30 days of our answer, or 60 days of your request.
Readers in the EU or UK can also contact their local authority, such as the UK ICO or one on the EDPB member list.
Children
Our guides are not directed at children under 13, or 16 where local law requires it, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If a child posted personal details in a comment, tell us and we will remove them.
How We Protect the Site
The site runs over HTTPS, the admin login limits failed attempts, the host’s firewall filters attacks, and WordPress, the theme and plugins are updated regularly. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect only the data this privacy policy lists.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
When the site’s setup changes, we update this privacy policy and the date below.
This privacy policy was last checked against the live site on September 30, 2026.
