Cookie Policy
This page lists the cookies and browser storage cilginteknoloji.com uses, who sets them, how long they last and how to block or delete them.
This cookie policy explains which cookies and browser storage cilginteknoloji.com uses, who sets them, what they do and how long they last. It covers every page on cilginteknoloji.com, including the English Tech Guides, as both sections share one setup. It is a plain-language description of the live site as of September 30, 2026, not legal advice.
The short version of this cookie policy: our page cache sets one small technical cookie, Google Analytics and AdSense set cookies from your first page view, and comment details or your theme choice are saved only if you ask. There is no cookie banner or consent tool yet.

What Cookies and Browser Storage Are
A cookie is a small piece of text a site asks your browser to keep and send back later. First-party cookies belong to the site you are on, third-party ones to another domain, such as doubleclick.net for Google ads.
localStorage and sessionStorage keep small values in the browser without sending them to the server. sessionStorage clears when you close the tab, localStorage when you clear the site’s data. This cookie policy lists both.
Cookie Policy Overview: What This Site Stores
This cookie policy sorts everything into four groups, based on our check of the live site and on vendor documentation.
Strictly Necessary and Functional
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| _lscache_vary | This site (LiteSpeed Cache) | Picks the cached page version; no personal data | 2 days |
| comment_author_*, comment_author_email_* | This site (WordPress) | Pre-fills the comment form | 1 year |
| ct-tema (localStorage) | This site (theme) | Remembers light or dark mode | Until you clear site data |
| litespeed_reloaded, litespeed_docref (sessionStorage) | This site (LiteSpeed Cache) | Prevents a second reload, keeps the original referrer | Until the tab closes |
| ezTOC_hidetoc-* | This site (table of contents plugin) | Turkish pages only: remembers a collapsed table of contents | 30 days |
| Security cookie (name not published) | Our host’s firewall (Imunify360) | Set only after a firewall challenge, to show you passed | About 24 hours |
The cache reloads the page once on your first visit, writing _lscache_vary and the sessionStorage values. Comment cookies need you to tick the box that saves your details; it starts unticked. ct-tema needs a click on the theme switch; without it, the site follows your device setting.
Analytics: Google Analytics
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (this domain) | Tells browsers apart with a random client ID | 2 years |
| _ga_9RN9ZKX5YT | Google Analytics (this domain) | Keeps session state | 2 years |
Google Analytics 4 runs on every page view through Google’s tag, placed by plugins including Site Kit by Google. It records page views, scrolling, outbound link clicks and site searches.
The client ID holds no name, but it is unique, so this cookie policy does not call the data anonymous. If you do not come back, Chrome caps these cookies at 400 days and Safari at 7 days, per Google’s page on Google Analytics cookie usage.
Advertising: Google AdSense
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies | 15 minutes |
| IDE | Google (doubleclick.net) | Shows and measures Google ads on non-Google sites like this one, personalizes them if personalized ads are on; security | 13 months in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK and Switzerland; 24 months elsewhere |
| id | Google (doubleclick.net) | Remembers that you turned off personalized ads | Same as IDE |
| __gads, __gpi | Google (this domain) | Advertising and security | 13 months |
| __eoi | Google (this domain) | Ad fraud protection | 6 months |
| DSID | Google (doubleclick.net) | Applies a signed-in Google user’s ad settings on non-Google sites | 2 weeks |
AdSense auto ads run on every page. In our Chrome-based test from Turkey, test_cookie appeared on the first page view and IDE on the second; __gads, __gpi, __eoi, DSID and id did not appear, though Google documents them. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this site or other websites.
AdSense ads can also come from Google-certified ad networks and ad technology partners, which may set cookies this cookie policy cannot list in advance. Google publishes lists of certified vendors and ad technology partners; our test saw only Google’s.
The ad code also loads a hidden Google reCAPTCHA frame for invalid-traffic checks, which may receive any google.com cookies you already have, such as NID or AEC. The site has no reCAPTCHA of its own.
Google adds, renames and retires cookies over time, so treat the names in this cookie policy as a snapshot and check Google’s advertising cookies list for the current version.
Admin-Only Cookies
Login cookies (wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie and wp-settings-*) are set only on the login page and in the admin area, and there are no reader accounts. The WordPress cookie documentation describes them.
Third-Party Content and Embeds
None of our posts embed videos, maps or social media posts, and the “Share on X” button is a plain link that loads nothing from X. In the English guides, fonts, images and our own scripts load from our server.
How to Control Cookies in Your Browser
Every major browser lets you delete and block cookies; deleting all cookies and site data removes everything this cookie policy lists. Menus change, so each entry links to the vendor’s help page.
- Chrome: More (three dots) > Delete browsing data, then tick Cookies and other site data. Third-party blocking is under Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies (Chrome help).
- Firefox: Menu > Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data. Manage exceptions on the same page blocks one site; Custom under Enhanced Tracking Protection blocks all (clearing help, blocking help).
- Safari on Mac: Safari > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data, then Remove or Remove All. Block all cookies is under Safari > Settings > Advanced (clearing help, blocking help).
- Edge: Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies, to block or delete them (Edge help).
On Chrome for Android, use More > Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data. On iPhone, open Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced: Website Data removes stored data and Block All Cookies stops new ones (iPhone help).
If Chrome settings change on their own, see our guide to Chrome switching your search engine to Yahoo.
Google’s Own Opt-Out Tools
- Partner Ad Settings turns off personalized Google ads on partner sites such as this one, in the browser you use. Signed out, Google keeps that choice in its id cookie, so clearing cookies undoes it; signed in, the My Ad Center setting also covers partner sites.
- The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on stops your visits from being reported to Google Analytics. Google says it works with Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
- Other ad companies offer opt-outs at aboutads.info and, in Europe, Your Online Choices.
What Happens If You Block Cookies
- The site and every guide still load.
- The comment form forgets your name and email.
- Blocking or clearing site data makes the theme switch forget your choice.
- Clearing cookies gives you a new Google Analytics ID. Blocking only third-party cookies leaves the first-party _ga in place, and Google says its tag can send data without cookies, so use the add-on above instead.
- Ads still appear, but they are less tailored.
Consent: No Cookie Banner Yet
The site shows no cookie banner and uses no consent platform or Google Consent Mode, so Google Analytics and AdSense can set cookies on the first page you open, before you click anything.
If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland: Google allows personalized ads there only on sites with a Google-certified consent platform, and we have none (Google’s AdSense consent requirements). Non-personalized ads can still use cookies for frequency capping, reporting and fraud checks. We test from Turkey, so we cannot confirm exactly what visitors there see.
Until then, use the browser settings and Google tools above. If we add a consent tool, this cookie policy will describe how it works.
Changes to This Cookie Policy and Contact
We update this cookie policy when a plugin, the analytics or the ad setup changes, and change the page date when we do. Comments, server logs and email are covered in our privacy policy.
Send questions about this cookie policy to admin@cilginteknoloji.com; the contact page lists other ways to reach us, and about us explains who runs the site. We aim to reply within two business days and offer no phone support.
Cookie Policy FAQ
Do I have to accept cookies to read the guides?
No. Block every cookie and the guides still load; only the comment and theme conveniences stop working, and ads become less tailored.
Does deleting cookies delete my comments?
No. Comments are stored on our server, so the privacy policy covers them rather than this cookie policy. Email us to have a comment deleted.
Does this cookie policy apply on phones and tablets?
Yes. Mobile browsers load the same code, so the same cookies can be set, depending on your browser’s settings. The Analytics add-on may not install on phone browsers.
